Vernee, a Chinese tech company has announced that it will be launching a Mediatek Helios X20 and 6GB RAM toting smartphone for just $399 (around Rs 27,000).The device will also boast of 128GB onboard memory and a 21MP camera based on the Sony IMX 230 sensor. If that wasn’t enough, Vernee also throws in a 5.5-inch display at 2K resolution into the mix. Vernee points out that only the Vivo Xplay 5 launched with 6GB of RAM and that the upcoming Samsung Note 6 may also carry 6GB of RAM.Vernee will reportedly launch a Vernee Thor handset that features an MT6753 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 16GB onboard memory. You’ll also get a 13MP rear camera, a 2800mAh battery and fast charging support. This device is set to retail at $129.99 (around Rs 8,700).While the efficacy of 6GB RAM is certainly in doubt, there’s a reason why there aren’t many handsets with that much ram, the specs and price of the two handsets is certainly appealing. The Helios X20 is a very interesting chipset that features a total of 10-cores in a “tri-cluster.” MediaTek says that each cluster is designed to take up a different work load, thereby balancing power consumption and performance requirements on the fly. The advantage of this, they claim, is better power handling, smoother performance and extended battery life.More specifically, the chipset runs the following clusters:2x Cortex-A72 @ 2.5GHz4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.0GHz4x Cortex-A53 @ 1.4GHzARM Mali GPU
