Bittorrent is the world’s most used P2P file sharing protocol and uTorrent is undoubtedly the most used client. Apart from the uTorrent 3.1 update that has been launched, uTorrent also launches uTorrent Plus, a paid client. The software is being priced at $24.95 per year. The new commercial software adds a whole bunch of new features, such as video transcoding, a built-in BitDefender antivirus and media playback features. Transferring and playing files on other devices, such as gaming consoles, like the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 and mobile media players and tablets should become simpler. Remote access using the web interface is still available and in addition, users will be able to access files from their home library.A quickly changing software, with many more features

A quickly changing software, with many more features

uTorrent 3.1, the free version, now includes a media player for high-definition content. uTorrent, the light-weight client was bought by Bittorrent. The client has been very popular from the very beginning for being memory efficient, while offering a whole bunch of features. The first versions were under a 100 kilobytes in size. With additional features being added, this size is slowly increasing. The reactions from fans also may change considering the change in direction, now that a paid version is also available.
