Here's how one 'puny' tweet broke Twitter's iOS app

Twitter iOS users faced problems today when the app kept crashing due to one specific URL that was tweeted out, reports TheNextWeb. Merely the appearance of the link on a user's timeline was causing the app to crash, even if they had not clicked on the link specifically.According to TNW report, the bug was linked to a URL using “punycode” on the network. "Punycode is a method in which Unicode characters — such as emoji — can be encoded for display in ASCII’s limited character set.Below is the tweet from the user @CPVideoMaker who found out about the bug and then tweeted out the link. His description on Twitter aptly reads, "I am the one who broke Twitter for iPhone and iPad. iOS Tweak Designer and Developer. Twitter’s iOS engineering then tweeted out saying that issue should have been resolved.While Twitter has now fixed the problem, clearly this one simple bug drove a lot of iPhone users crazy.
