The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage is expected by 23 May

The latest rumors suggest that Xiaomi will launch a 6 GB as well as a 4 GB RAM variant of the Mi Max 2.

Xiaomi Mi Max, the company's large phablet device is now a year old. There have been rumors about its successor, but somehow, the company hasn't yet launched the device. Today, however, we are hearing that the Mi Max 2 could see an official unveiling on 23 May.The company hasn't officially announced anything yet, but newly leaked information says that publicity for the handset will begin from tomorrow. According to previous rumors, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 would feature the same 6.44-inch display with 1080p resolution.  It would run on a Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage. There is speculation that there will be a 4 GB RAM variant as well, but that it will get a Snapdragon 626 processor. The battery capacity will also be increased from 4,850 mAh on the Mi Max to a 5,000 mAh capacity. It is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat but will remain on MIUI 8.The expected price range for the Mi Max 2 is said to fall between 1,499 Yuan (around Rs 15,000) and 1,699 Yuan (around Rs 17,000) and could go to a maximum of 1,999 Yuan (Rs 20,000 approx).Xiaomi recently launched its first ever Mi Home store in India and will be launching the Redmi 4 budget smartphone in India at a special event in New Delhi.
