The Witcher: Versus was a highly enjoyable action RPG from lesser known Polish developer, CD Projekt. Although it lacked the polish or the budget of a Western RPG, it went on to generate a huge cult following for itself within the diehard RPG community. Commercially, the game performed well enough to warrant a sequel and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be available for the PC by May 2011.

1 on 1 with the great one

While you patiently wait for the sequel, you can get your Witcher fix through The Witcher: Versus - a web based, free-to-play game that’s now headed to the iOS as well. In it, players create characters, level them up, customize the crap out of them and then partake in duels against other players.

The game will be published by Chillingo, the very same dudes behind Angry Birds, and will feature a turn-based combat system where you’ll have to queue up a string of attacks and defenses well in advance. The Witcher: Versus for the iOS will also feature cross platform play that’ll allow iOS users to take on players using the web based version

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
