The shatterproof screen on the Moto Z2 Force isn’t shattering, but it does seem to be falling apart

Various users on Twitter and on forums have confirmed that one of the protective layers on their phone is peeling off, reports Android Authority and PiuinikaWeb. At first, some thought it was a scratch guard that was peeling off, but everyone later discovered that it was indeed the uppermost protective layer that was failing.Motorola’s response to this issue has been far from ideal. Users are reporting that in some cases, Motorola service centres are claiming the peeling to be physical damage and are demanding a fee of $50. In a few cases, users have confirmed that Motorola is replacing the screen under warranty for free, but these are few and far between.What’s even more disturbing is that Motorola hasn’t officially acknowledged the issue and neither have they said anything about a permanent fix. This means that there’s no guarantee that the issue will not appear again six months later or when the warranty expires.
