Details of a 4K ready Samsung desktop dock have been leaked online. The dock is meant to extend your smartphone experience to a larger screen. The dock is called the DeX Station and its images and features were leaked on WinFuture, a German tech site.Judging by the image, it looks like if you insert the phone into the dock and connect peripherals and a display to that dock. The dock apparently supports 4K rendering at 30 Hz, has two USB 2.0 ports and a 100Mbps Ethernet jack.Additional cooling fans are present to keep your Galaxy S8 cool. WinFuture has learned that the dock will enable a high-performance mode in the S8 — much like the Nintendo Switch — hence the fans.Taking full advantage of the USB-C standard, the DeX Station will apparently charge a connected Galaxy S8 and transmit data to a connected display via the same cable. WinFuture claims that the device is collapsible as well. We’ve known of the existence of DeX for a couple of months now and various rumours speaking of Samsung’s purported Android desktop mode have been circulating. The Samsung Galaxy S8 itself is expected by around 21 April this year and will feature a new design as well as Samsung’s in-house voice assistant, Bixby.
