The Nextbit Robin is getting a software upgrade to Android 7.1.1

Nextbit's Robin cloud-based smartphone is now receiving software updates that will upgrade the smartphone to the latest Google Android 7.1.1 version. The smartphone which was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow recently received an Android 7.0 Nougat update in March. Android Police now reports that the device is now receiving Android 7.1.1 updates, sadly there no improvements or fixes out here apart from the usual security updates.Nextbit is providing an update only for the 1st patch level of the phone. At the same time, company has also released the image of Android 7.1.1 on their website. Apart from the security patch, there's the usual Android 7.1.1 updates that arrive with the new firmware.The Nextbit Robin was acquired by Razor, a company that makes game oriented devices like keyboard and mouse this year. Buyers planning to buy the phone might get the newest version on the new phones.The Robin is priced at Rs 19,999 in India and can be ordered from Flipkart and Amazon.Nextbit is a company that was formed by former employees of HTC, Google and Apple. The Nextbit Robin has been marketed as a device with unlimited storage. The unlimited cloud storage can be accessed once the 32 GB on-board storage runs out. Nextbit has its own skinned OS running on top of Android and that Nextbit has been designed to learn your habits. It automatically pushes unused apps and services onto the cloud and will download app and data back onto the system (local storage) when there is a need for it.The Nextbit Robin includes a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 2,680 mAh battery and 13 MP rear camera. It also packs in a USB Type-C charging port and fingerprint reader.
