Tata Power launches scheme offering discounts on eco-friendly fans for consumers in Mumbai

Consumers of Tata Power in Mumbai can purchase energy efficient fans at a discounted rate. The scheme, launched on World Environment Day on 05 June 2017. The ceiling fans are named "Gorilla" and are based on the Brushless DC (BLDC)  technology, and consume on 28 watts at the highest speeds. According to Tata Power, the fans are more energy efficient than five star ceiling fans available in the market. The fans are from Atomberg, an Indian startup specialising in energy efficient ceiling fans.Ashok Sethi, COO and executive director, Tata Power, said "Energy management and conservation are more important today than ever before, and innovative technologies, like the BLDC technology, can be a game changer for it. Ceiling fans are one of the most important but often underrated appliances when we think of energy efficiency in homes. This programme is in continuation of our efforts to promote end-use energy efficiency by offering the cutting-edge solutions at a highly discounted rate. Image: Atomberg.[/caption]The market price of the fans are Rs 3,500 each, but Tata Power consumers can by the fans for Rs 1,750 each. Each consumer can purchase up to four ceiling fans through the scheme. The fans come with a smart remote control, which can be used to adjust the speeds, toggle the sleep mode, and set a timer. The fans will be delivered to the homes of consumers availing the offer. Interested buyers can register for the product on the Be Green subsite.
