Symantec offers its new Norton 360 suite as a public beta.
Symantec has finally gotten around to releasing a public beta of their new all-in-one consumer security service Norton 360 which was formerly code named 'Project Genesis'. This new service is part of a new breed of security offerings from major vendors, which combine a security suite with online-based storage for protecting your data.
Norton's 360 protects consumers from Internet threats, online frauds and identity theft with its security suite that combines an antivirus, firewall and anti-spyware application. It also safeguards, your important data by automatically storing it online and in case of data loss the software will restore it. Norton 360 also protects against phishing, by making use of its own 'Phish Report' network, which is entirely dependant on the user reporting against Phishing sites.
