Swype for Android Officially Available
Swype keyboards can be downloaded and come with new features.
Many Android users couldn’t get their hands on the beta version of the Swype keyboard for various reasons. All that is about to change now with Swype being officially launched for Android.
For beginners, “Swyping” is a concept where you glide over keys of a keyboard rather than pressing each key individually. There are claims that Swyping can be a lot faster than typing in your text messages or memos. Here’s a video which shows you how to Swype.
The new version supports phones that have HVGA (320 x 480 pixels), WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) and FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) screens. The latest version also adds a few features like, Double-Tap-To-Edit, Cursor Restore and Voice-To-Text.
All you need to do is register on their website, using your email address. You will have to do so through your mobile phone. Once registered, you’ll get a link to download Swype on your mobile. Also, if you already have Swype pre-installed on your handset, there’s no point in downloading the application. It won’t work! Give the keyboard a try and let us know what you feel of it.
