Supplier reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will have slightly larger batteries than before

We have seen and heard plenty of rumours and leaks regarding the upcoming Samsung smartphone flagship, the Galaxy S8. With the launch drawing nearer in late March, and the production of the smartphones already on track, there's always room for some more leaks. Today, another detail about the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been revealed and this one's to do with the battery size of not one, but two smartphones.According to itcle.com, which has obtained the details from a supplier, the upcoming Samsung flagship will come in two flavours and with better battery capacities than the current models. The standard Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 3,250mAh battery while the larger Galaxy S8 Plus model is expected to feature a 3,750mAh battery.The battery capacity of both smartphones indeed sounds like a bump up from the previous models, which featured 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively.[caption id="attachment_359529" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Image Credit: Venture Beat[/caption]While the bump up in capacity is quite small, you have to keep in mind that the newer smartphones will be slimmer than previous models.Add to this mix the newer 10nm chipsets from Qualcomm, users should now get better battery savings that should see quite a boost in battery life over the previous models.The display size is also expected to be bigger this time around with the S8 getting a 5.8-inch display and the S8 Plus getting a 6.2-inch display. These would come with much better screen-to-body ratios including razor-thin bezels not just at the sides, but at the top and bottom area as well.From the leaked images of what is expected to be production ready units of the S8, the fingerprint reader has moved to the back. There's only room at the top to accommodate the earpiece speaker, a front facing camera, sensors and an iris scanner camera.
