DICE has been working on a new Battlefront game for quite some time now. At the EA annual stockholder meeting, the company's CFO Blake Jorgensen has given the game a release window of summer 2015. However, there is still no precise release date for the game. He has stated that the game will "most likeley come out around the same time that the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of '15."

The game, built on the Frostbite 3 engine that DICE developed for the upcoming Battlefield 4, is set to be the studio’s own interpretation of “what Battlefront should be,” according to EA Games Label boss Patrick Söderlund, who greenlit the project. We might get to see a new Battlefront game yet

At the moment, however, not much is known about the game. It is said to be in the early stages of development and will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

"This is DICE's interpretation of what Battlefront should be," Söderlund had earlier told Eurogamer. "That's the best description you can have. There are absolutely things in the previous Battlefront games that you'll recognise and remember, but DICE wants to put its own flavour on it. That's the only way we can do it. Hence it's called Star Wars: Battlefront, without a 3 at the end. We want to say it's something new. But again, it's going to be very Star Wars and very cool."

This is the third major game that DICE is working on right now, with the others being Mirror's Edge 2 and Battlefield 4.

Star Wars: Battlefront is a series of third-person multiplayer action games which could essentially be described as Battlefield on a smaller scale. The previous games in the series followed the story of the movies, with many of the levels being recognisable from the movies.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
