Sony's latest cybershot DSC-WX300 to cost Rs 19,990 in India

Sony's newest cybershot camera, the DSC WX300 which the company is touting as the lightest and smallest digital camera to date, will cost Rs 19,990 in India. It will be available from mid-May.

Key features of the camera include 20x optical zoom, an 18-megapixel EXMOR R CMOS sensor with a Sony G Lens and Optical SteadyShot to avoid snapping blurry images. It also supports Full HD video shooting and continuous capture of 10 frames per second.

There is also a Superior Auto feature that allows users to take pictures even in low light, and is capable of recognising moving subjects.

Apart from these hardware specs, the camera also has a number of gimmicky software features like the "Beauty Effect" that automatically re-touches faces in photos to remove skin blemishes, widen half-closed eyes and whiten teeth. Kind of like an inbuilt Photoshop.

There is also an inbuilt Instagram of sorts, where users will be able to apply a limited number of filters to their images - except that this is being called the "Picture Effect".

The tiny camera will measure roughly 96mm x 54.9mm x 25.7mm and weighs just 166g.
