Sony announced two new flagships at MWC (Mobile World Congress) this year and just last week announced the Xperia XZs in India. The smartphone will officially be available in India from today with a best buy price of Rs 49,990. It is noteworthy that the company was accepting pre-orders between 4 April and 11 April and offering a free wireless Bluetooth speaker to the consumers who pre-booked the smartphone. The Xperia XZs is a successor to the Xperia XZ which was announced last year. According to Sony, the new camera can record 960 fps slow motion video which is 4x slower than current smartphone cameras, though slow-mo is captured only at 720p.There is also an anti-distortion shutter which minimises rolling shutter and a unique memory-stacked sensor. The camera has a 19 MP sensor (1/2.3-inch), a 25 mm f/2.0 lens, a dual-tone flash, predictive and laser autofocus and an RGBC-IR sensor for natural colour rendering. The camera can record 4K video with SteadyShot 5-axis digital stabilisation. The front camera is the same as last year, a 13 MP (1/3.06-inch) sensor with a 22 mm wide-angle lens.As for the rest of the hardware, you get a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with Sony’s Triluminos and X-Reality technologies. Sony announced 32 GB and 64 GB variants at the time of its reveal but India only gets the 64 GB variant. The storage can be expanded further as there is a microSD card slot that supports storage of up to 256 GB.  The smartphone is IP68 certified so it is dust and waterproof as well.Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, DLNA, NFC, A-GPS/GLONASS and USB Type-C 1.0 port with OTG support. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Android 7.0 Nougat and a 2,900 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and Sony’s Stamina mode. The smartphone comes in three colour variants, Ice Blue, Black and Warm Silver. You can read our first impressions about the smartphone over here.
