Back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, Sony officially took the wraps off, what was their first, Sony-only branded smartphone. At the time of the announcement, Paul Hamnett, President, Sony Mobile Communcations, said, “With Xperia ion, we’re bringing together several firsts that will take users beyond the smartphone. Designed to deliver a seamless experience across the multiple screens we use to play, watch, listen, and share, Xperia ion is the gateway to entertainment when and – most importantly – where you want it.”

First Sony branded handset coming soon?
A listing on Release Date India has stated that this smartphone will be available in our country officially by this quarter of 2012. One can expect this handset to launch in India before the end of June.
