Sony launches an updated version of the PlayStation VR headset; launch date yet to be revealed

As per a report by The Verge, the new PS VR headset comes with smaller tweaks and optimisations that iron out the minute problems and issues reported by the customers while using the original headset. The new headset comes with a new processor allowing users to watch HDR content supported by the PlayStation 4, without having to disconnect the headset from the console.Other tweaks include re-positioning of the headphone jack and a thinner cable for connections to the PlayStation console. As per the report, the new headset will also be compatible with all PS VR content released until now.The company has not announced the release date of the updated PlayStation VR headset. The new headset will feature as a part of a new bundle along with the PlayStation Camera in Japan on 14 October. The bundle is expected to be sold at a price of about $400.The update Sony PlayStation VR headset will compete against HTC Vive VR and Oculus Rift headset, all retailing at around the same price range.
