Giving a healthy push to the numbers were the mobile OS’ with a plethora of apps. The report added that those with the above mentioned OS were found to contribute significantly to the data consumption numbers. While the iPhone users contributed almost 492MB of data usage, those with devices running on Android boasted of 582MB data usage. Also, users of Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 platform also pitched in better data consumption figures.
But, what proves to be the icing on the cake is the fact that with the data consumption figures, the prices of the same didn’t undergo any revision. In fact, if the figures in the report are anything to go by then the figures have actually dropped by a half in the last year.
The report, finally wraps itself up, but not before stating IDC’s prediction that the Android medium will continue its upward march to dominance, and will be followed closely by Windows Phone 7.
