Skype for iOS now lets you make 720p video calls

It is now possible for iPhone and iPad users to make HD (720p) quality video calls on Skype, thanks to the latest update to the popular VoIP service. The Skype app for iPhone and iPad users has been bumped up to version 4.1.0, to bring in a bunch of improvements to call quality and fixes to some previously known bugs.

In addition to letting users make HD quality video calls from their devices, the updated iOS app also features a new, easier to use country code selector on the dial pad. Once you’ve updated to this latest version, Skype claims that you will also notice improvements in the audio and video call quality, as also stability improvements. The latter is for users of iOS 7 beta. In its official blog Skype writes that it is aware that some iOS 7 beta users had been experiencing some instability with Skype. This release fixes some of the major issues that users faced.

Skype for iPhone version 4.10 supports: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod Touch (3rd generation), iPod Touch (4th generation), iPod Touch (5th generation) devices. The Skype for iPad version 4.9 supports: iPad, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPad (4th generation), and iPad Mini devices. Users would require devices running iOS 5.0 or later to use this app. The updated app can be downloaded from the App Store.
