Samsung has unveiled three new Windows 8-enabled devices under its Ativ brand—stylish and slim Book 9 Plus and Book 9 Lite ultrabooks—along with the One 5 Style all-in-one PC. All three look stylish and seem to be a step further into merging PC and mobile technologies. Samsung has infused two new technologies in these devices—SideSync and HomeSync Lite. SideSync allows easy sharing of content between PC and Samsung smartphones while HomeSync Lite transforms the PCs hard drive into a personal cloud server. Using HomeSync Lite, users can back-up their personal files, photos and videos from portable devices to PCs and access them remotely from any other device.Samsung ultrabooks and AIO

The new ultrabooks and the AIO

The Ativ Book 9 Plus boasts of an ultra-thin unibody design and light form factor. It has a Windows 8 optimized 13.3-inch touchscreen with 3200 x 1800 resolution. The device lets you choose from Core i5 and i7 ULT processors (max 8GB RAM), and comes with an extended battery-life of 12 hours. For storage, it offers up to 256GB SSD. The Book 9 Plus is said to boot up in less than six seconds and wakes up from sleep in less than one second. It weighs 1.39 kgs and will be made available in black colour.

Next in the line-up is the Ativ Book 9 Lite with a similar premium quality as the Book 9. It has ten-point 13.3-inch touchscreen display but with a lower resolution of 1366 x 768. The Windows 8-based ultrabook comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 4GB RAM, up to 256GB SSD and 8.5 hours of battery life. Weighing three and a half pounds and measuring less than an inch thick, it is aimed at mobile consumers and business travelers alike. It weighs 1.44Kg (Non-TSP) or 1.58Kg (TSP), and available in black and white colours.

Lastly, the One 5 Style is an all-in-one (AIO) desktop PC which claims to sport sleek Galaxy design aesthetic with minimalist, sophisticated build. Sporting a 21.5-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 touchscree, the AIO has a thin 20.5mm bezel and 26.9mm body. It is Windows 8-enabled and powered by an AMD A6 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM. It comes with storage support for up to a 1TB HDD. Aimed at home computing, HomeSync Lite will allow multiple family members to privately manage individual accounts on the One 5 Style.  The One 5 Style weighs 5.9 Kgs and will be available in white colour.

Likely to be made available later this year, there is no word on the pricing of these devices.
