Samsung Galaxy S8 launch date pushed by a week, to 28 April

Samsung has decided to delay the launch date of Samsung Galaxy S8 by one week. The new date decided for the launch of S8 is set to be 28 April 2017 from the previous date of 21 April according to a report by VentureBeat.The company has not given any reason for the delay of the launch. However, it is understandable that the company will take its sweet time to ensure that there is no repitition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 episode with the upcoming flagship Galaxy S8.The Unpacked event is set to be held in New York City on 29 March with the company announcing S8 along with the next generation of Samsung Gear VR headset.According to a previously leaked specifications sheet, the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, IP68 dust and water resistance, 12MP dual-pixel camera, 8MP front camera, an iris scanner, 64GB of expandable memory, Samsung Pay, wireless charging, and bundled earphones tuned by AKG.As for the chipset, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will be the highlight of Samsung’s announcement. An Exynos variant with 6GB RAM is also expected for select markets like China.
