Samsung has now rolled out an update addressing one of Galaxy Gear’s chief complaints – limited support for notifications. Now your Gear can get notifications from all apps installed on the supported Samsung smartphone. The updated Gear Manager app requires the firmware of the Gear to be up-to-date, so if you have been stalling the update, this is a very good reason to get it as soon as possible.

The “More Notifications” section lets you choose which apps you want to send to your smartwatch. It is quite simple to set up an app, which can be done by checking the box to the right of the app name. The update is available through the Samsung Apps store.
Last month, we saw that knowledgable users can sideload full-fledged Android apps to the Gear. The Galaxy Gear was launched back in September for Rs 22,990. At the moment, only the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition come with full support for the Gear, but an updated Gear-friendly firmware for the Galaxy S4 and other Samsung phones is expected soon.
