Samsung Announces the Ch@t 222 Dual-SIM Handset

The Ch@t 222 has a QWERTY keyboard and specifications similar to the previous Ch@t 335.

Remember the Ch@t 335, a feature phone that was specially meant for social networking enthusiasts? Well Samsung has announced another version of the Ch@t series called the Ch@t 222. However, this one is more like the Ch@t 322 in terms of specifications.

Twice the chat

The Ch@t 222 has an extra SIM card slot, so this one is a Dual-SIM mobile phone. It has a QWERTY keyboard, but the specifications are not too impressive. It looks pretty certain that this will be priced more in the lower-end or entry-level segment. A quick look under the hood of the Ch@t 222 reveals the following information:

2.2-inch display at a resolution of 220 x 176 pixels
GPRS
Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
VGA Camera
FM Radio with a feature to record
3.5 mm audio jack
Memory expandable to 16 GB
DNSe sound enhancement for the audio player

Now these specifications don’t look interesting at all. Samsung should be pricing the Ch@t 222 at a very low price if they really want this handset to sell at all. The pricing of this handset is not out, but hopefully should be below the Rs. 4000 mark.
