Qualcomm will be announcing Snapdragon 660 and two 63x chipsets this month
Apart from the 660, Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 630 and 635 chipsets at an event next week.
Chipset maker Qualcomm is expected to announce new chipsets this month. According to a report, the company is hosting an event on 9 May and could launch the Snapdragon 660 chipset as per the event invitation. No prizes for guessing that this chip will be a successor for the 652/653 SoC.Apart from the the 660, it is speculated that two more products will be announced. According to some leaks on Twitter, Qualcomm could announce the 630 and the 635 as well which will be replacing the 625 chipset. It will be pretty much same as the Snapdragon 652 with better performance and efficiency. The Snapdragon 660 will have an octa-core processor with the same Kryo 280 cores that are present on the new Snapdragon 835 processor. But unlike the 10nm process on the 835, the 660 will have the 14nm architecture.Apart from the processor a new Adreno 512 GPU will also be announced. It will be for mid-range devices but will not be as powerful as the Adreno 540. OEMs including As per the devices are Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung are expected to announce handset with the new chipsets.
