PNY Technologies, Inc. recently announced an 8 GB USB 2.0 Micro Hard Drive. This portable storage device provides a convenient and economical way for mobile users to transport large volumes of information often more than would fit on a conventional flash-based USB drive.MaxFile's cost-per-megabyte is much less compared to other portable storage solutions of this physical size. Weighing about two ounces and with a capacity starting at 8 GB, users can store more than 16,000 digital photos, 2,400 songs in MP3 format, or thousands of text files. Its small form factor fits conveniently in a pocket.The drive will be available directly from PNY. The suggested retail price is $179 for 8 GB capacity. Dean Delserro, USB product manager, for PNY Technologies said, “Maxfile is ideal for the home or office and will appeal to photo enthusiasts and graphics designers who require an affordable, portable storage device for large volumes of data storage.”[/TAGS]
