It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that Microsoft has been focusing a lot on the voice control capabilities of the Xbox One’s Kinect. Sony, not to be outdone, has revealed that the PlayStation 4 will have these capabilities as well, albeit only if one owns the PlayStation Eye camera. According to Polygon, the announcement was made by Sony at the recent GameStop Expo.Almost the same capabilities as the Kinect

"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that PlayStation Camera allows for voice recognition and we will look forward to sharing more details in the lead up to the launch of PlayStation 4 on November 29," a Sony Computer Entertainment spokesperson told Polygon. November 29 is the launch date of the console in Europe.

The presentation was recorded and uploaded to YouTube by user lex1020. In the video, the PlayStation Eye description reads: "From navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming."

"When you add the PlayStation camera into the mix, the pair works together to expand upon system features and enhance your PlayStation 4 experience," says Sony's Sean Coleman at the presentation. "The new stereoscopic lenses track your body movements in games or even recognize your face easier system navigation."

The PlayStation 4 is set to hit stores in most of the world on November 15 or 29, depending on where you live. It will cost $399 or €399, and will not be bundled with the PlayStation Eye. Instead, those who want it will have to get it separately for $59 in North America and €49 in Europe.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
