We’ve all used Pinterest for various purposes over the few years of its existence. Most, in fact, are still discovering the various things that are possible. And we don't just mean creating lists of recipes to try out later, or using it for inspiration for your upcoming wedding. Pinterest now wants to you to save articles and wants to be a “read-later” and bookmarking service.

In a blog post elaborating on how the feature will work, Jon Parise, a Software Engineer at the company says a lot of users are already using Pinterest as a read-it-later tool. In fact, 5 million articles are pinned on to boards daily by users wanting to read them later.

Pinterest is, therefore, rolling out a whole new look for pinned articles that will make sure they contain more information for easy recognition and accessibility. These new look pins will now contain more information like headline, the name of the author, story description and even the link of the article pinned. “When you come across articles you may not have time to read, or just want to keep for later, you can save them to your own reading list board,” writes Parise.

Pinterest earlier allowed users to pin articles to boards, of course, but the pins looked exactly the same as every other card, showing no difference between them. They had an image with a small link to the post and that’s all. With these new pins rolling out, article pins will be far more different than image-related pins now. Pinterest has also informed that this new look will be rolling out to old pins as well.
