Path now available for Windows Phone 8

Add one more app to the list of ones that have made it to Windows Phone recently. Private social networking app Path is now available for Windows Phone users as a public beta. In a blog post announcing the launch of the app in public beta, the Path team wrote, “Windows Phone 8 has been our most requested platform. We’re excited to welcome Windows Phone 8 users into our community of 23 million strong, so they too can add to the billions of moments that have already been shared on Path.” Path is a private social networking app, which allows you to add only 150 people on your profile. You can share with them your location, status updates, pictures and even songs that you’re listening to right now. These stories all get tacked onto a timeline which you can scroll through. The app is bringing along Live Tiles for the app for Windows Phone users. You will also be able to share moments from within the app to other apps like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare. For now, the media movements feature like the ability to share music, movies and books is not available for Windows Phone users. Other features like Path Messaging and Path Shop are missing from the OS too, but the company promises to bring it to Windows Phone soon. It’s interesting to note that Path has taken quite a while to make an appearance on to Windows Phone. The arrival of the application was first announced in July. Other apps, which were announced simultaneously, like Vine and Hipstamtic already made an appearance in the stores not too long after the announcement. But it’s been a long time coming for Path. Flipboard is another app that has still not managed to be released for Windows Phone. However, with Path out, it shouldn’t be too long. You can head on to the Windows Phone Store and download Path for your WP8 devices.
