Oppo R9s was the most sold smartphone in 2017 in China, followed by Apple iPhone 7 Plus

In a survey by Counterpoint Research, the Oppo R9s was found to be the most sold smartphone of 2017 in China. This was followed by Apple iPhone 7 Plus.[caption id="attachment_4297589" align="alignleft" width="380"] iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.[/caption]According to the survey, factors such as supply chain management, the price of the product, concentration on flagship models and product specification (such as beautification mode and bezel-less screen) were chosen to select the best phone model.The survey reported that Oppo R9s had 3 percent of the market share followed by iPhone 7 Plus. In the Chinese market since the mid-segment market rules, which is mostly between $250 to $450, the iPhones are the one which standout.Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 were the only two handsets which were beyond the mid-price segment and yet took the top five places. While Vivo X9 stood third, Oppo A57 stood fourth followed by iPhone 7.The reason why iPhone stood out in the Chinese market where the dominating factor is the price of the smartphone, is because of over 16 percent decrease in the price of the smartphone. The phone was priced less than $900.Other smartphone makers who were dominant in the survey were Oppo, Vivo, Honor, Xiaomi.Oppo, according to Counterpoint, has led the charts due to Oppo's increased focus on flagship phones.
