OnePlus teases a new colour variant for its latest flagship on social media; could be 'Mint Gold'

OnePlus may be launching a new colour for its flagship, the OnePlus 5. The company posted a teaser on 2 August on its Twitter handle along with a photo hinting the new colour on its official Facebook account. The photo shared on Facebook showed a white colourless OnePlus 5 handset stacked against the other two colour variants, with the title 'Who is coming?".[caption id="attachment_3886387" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Image Courtesy: OnePlus 5 (Facebook)[/caption]We can assume that the colour would be the 'Mint Gold' edition as revealed by TENAA listing. This colour was not a part of the original lineup that OnePlus revealed during the launch of OnePlus 5.  It is unclear whether the company is planning to update the internals of the smartphone with the launch of this new colour variant but it is highly unlikely that the company would do it.This is not the first time that OnePlus has launched a new colour variant shortly after the launch of its flagship. Previously the company launched the 'Soft gold' variant of OnePlus 3T weeks after the launch of 3T.

The company has not revealed the new colour of the upcoming OnePlus 5 variant at the time of writing. The company did tease that this new variant will be launched on 7 August 2017.This announcement comes after OnePlus has announced the roll out of OxygenOS 4.5.7 update for the OnePlus 5. The company has made a number of bugfixes, optimizations, updates and added two new features. The company has released about seven software updates after the launch of the smartphone to ensure that the bugs reported by users are fixed.
