Ola is planning to shut down its Ola Café and Ola Store services, announced Ola in a blog post. Ola Café was an initiative to deliver food and Ola Store was meant to deliver groceries. Ola Café was apparently a take on uberEATS, a service offered by Uber in the U.S.On the blog post, Ola indicates that the two services will be shut down by the "end of this week." Ola wrote, "Your response has been overwhelming and we’d like to believe that you have had a wonderful experience with Ola Café and Ola Store!" They don't really give a reason for shutting down the services, but they add that, "As we strengthen our focus on building mobility for a billion people, we are drawing these two experiments to a close and taking learnings from these to serve you better in the time to come."Flipkart's NearBuy and Paytm's grocery delivery services were only recently shuttered citing low margins and demand. Ola probably faced similar issues with Ola Store and Ola Café, leading to the shutdown. In the end, Ola tells its customers, "All good experiments have to come to an end and we are happy that you were part of this journey!"
