Ola Cabs could charge a cancellation fee from this month
Ola could start charging customers for cancellation of cabs
Ola Cabs, the popular cab service provider will start charging users who end up cancelling their cabs from this month. According to a report by Moneycontrol, Ola will charge an unconfirmed amount if a customer does not cancel within five minutes of booking a normal cab and two minutes of booking a shared one.The cancellation charge would also be applicable if the driver finds that the customer is not at the designated pick-up spot after waiting for a maximum of ten minutes. The cancellation fee will be added to the bill amount of the next ride. However, if one selects the Taxi for Sure option in Ola there is a different policy. If you cancel your reservation before one hour of the journey you won't be charged. But if you cancel your booking within an hour before your journey begins, you could end up paying 50 percent of a flat rate as decided by your commute provider.Uber has a similar policy where it charges Rs 60 if a cancellation is not done within five minutes of making the reservation. Other cab services like Mega, Meru and Easy Cabs don’t charge any cancellation fee.We reached out to Ola for a response. They haven't confirmed the new step, we would update this story as soon as we get more info.
