Octa-core Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 launched for Rs 12,990

Putting an end to the buzz around an Android One device, Micromax has launched the Canvas Nitro A310 in India. Priced at Rs 12,990, the smartphone will be competing with the newly announced Motorola Moto G (second generation). Following the current trend, the company has announced an exclusive tie-up with Snapdeal for the Nitro A310. Interestingly, the dual-SIM smartphone is designed with the faux leather back just like Samsung's Galaxy smartphones. In terms of specs, the Nitro A310 sports a 5-inch HD 720p IPS display with oleophobic coating. It comes powered by a MediaTek octa-core smartphone clocked at 1.7GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the camera front, it gets a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes with support for 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. One can also expect support for accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensors. The 8GB onboard storage is expandable via a microSD card slot. All of this is fuelled by a 2,500mAh battery, which promises to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and 320 hours of standby time. Last week, Motorola took the wraps off its latest Moto G priced at Rs 12,999, exclusively via Flipkart. Motorola has upgraded to a larger, 5-inch display and an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP one on the front. The company has promised an Android L update (device comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the box), which will provide a cleaner interface and better multitasking abilities.
