Nokia promotes its camera tech ahead of latest smartphone announcement

Nokia is planning to hold an event next week in New York City for the introduction of the Nokia EOS. As reported earlier, leaked press shots have revealed that the company may land up dubbing the smartphone either as the Nokia 909 or the Nokia Lumia 1020. From the screenshots seen so far, the smartphone will be sport a 41megapixel camera sensor. To build the buzz, the Finnish handset manufacturer has now released two video clips.

While the first video deals with the inner functions of the phone camera featured in the Nokia Lumia 925, the other points out that since 2005, all high-end Nokia models have been using Carl Zeiss lens.

The video also mentions that Nokia is the only smartphone maker that the lens maker allegedly trusts. This promotion is obviously positioned to herald next week’s event, though, so users may want to hold their horses for the official specifications of the smartphone to come out.

Since the Nokia 808 PureView was first introduced, the company has constantly been talking about a Windows Phone version of the device and the fact that the phone should come out soon.

More details about the phone are yet to be released. However, the screenshots so far reveal that the phone should come with a xenon flash and a polycarbonate unibody. Apart from that, an OLED display with 1280 x 768 resolution and 32GB of internal storage may be expected. Reports have also been trickling in that the EOS will run on Nokia's new Amber Windows Phone software update. All this is still to be confirmed by the company, though.
