Nokia Lumia 625: Images and specs leaked

The Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone has been consistently making it to the headlines over the past few weeks via leaks and rumours. Finnish site Puhelinvertailu now claims to have the specifications of this smartphone in its possession; hours before Nokia makes its scheduled ‘Big’ announcement.

Is this the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone?

Going by the specifications on the Finnish site, the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone will sport a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, thereby making it one of the largest phones in the Windows Phone 8 line-up. The resolution on the display is rather low for the large size of the screen. This gets especially puzzling considering the fact that unlike Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8 does have support for higher resolutions, including WXGA resolution (1280 x 768 pixels).

The smartphone will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and come with 512MB of RAM. The Lumia 625 will sport a 5MP shooter at the back and a front-facing VGA camera. There's 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 64GB via a microSD card. In addition to this users will also get 7GB storage on Microsoft's SkyDrive. In terms of connectivity options it is claimed that the Nokia Lumia 625 will support LTE.

As far as looks go, the Lumia 625 is said to come with semi-transparent, interchangeable shells in orange, bright green, yellow, white and black colours. Other features on the Lumia 625 smartphone include a Beta Drive Here, Here Maps, Transit Here, Nokia Music, and Smart Camera. All this will be fuelled by a 2000 mAh battery.

Serial leaker @evleaks has leaked renders of the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone. Though we can't vouch for the credibility of the leaked images they seem to follow the same design language of all Lumia phones we've seen so far.

Last week China’s official certification site TENAA posted pictures and claimed they belonged to the Lumia 625 smartphone. The site added that the smartphone supports WCDMA (R6 version and support for HSDPA/HSUPA)/GSM (GPRS), and WAPI security mode with wireless LAN capabilities.
