Nokia Lumia 1020 up for pre-order; priced at Rs 49,999

Nokia’s recent Lumia 1020 launch in India left quite a few users disappointed because the company did not reveal the official pricing details. While the official announcement is slated for October 10, it now looks like the device has popped up for pre-order.

While the handset comes with a price tag of Rs 49,999 on both Flipkart and HomeShop18, the device is being offered on The MobileStore for Rs 47,249. The estimated release date has been pegged for the third week of October on Flipkart.

The Lumia 1020's standout feature is the camera

A quick look at the specs sheet shows that the pride of place, feature-wise, goes to the gigantic 41-megapixel camera, the second version of the camera tech seen before in the PureView 808. The Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5-inch display and packs in the latest Windows Phone 8 Amber update. Internally, the handset packs a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the camera front, the massive shooter is supplemented with a special camera app called Pro Camera. The device also boasts of Nokia’s second–generation optical image stabilisation (OIS) engine as well as Zeiss optics with a 6-lens design. And the Finnish company has even added a manual shutter and xenon flash as well.

The camera can shoot full HD video at 30 fps and also boasts impressive numbers for lossless zoom: 4x in 1080p and 6x in 720p. Manual controls include flash, focus, ISO, shutter speed, white balance and exposure. Connectivity-wise, the handset comes with support for 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC and DLNA. It also comes with support for GPS, GLONASS and Bluetooth. The 1020 comes with 32GB of internal memory and rounds up the offering with a 2,000mAh battery. Nokia has also added an optional camera grip and a wireless charging shell with the new device.
