Nokia incorporates PayMate's NFC technology for India

Nokia only recently showcased their smartphones equipped with the NFC technology. Now, a wireless transactions platform provider, PayMate is working in tandem with Nokia, and has developed what it refers to as a unique, cutting edge technology for the latter's smartphones in India. According to an official announcement confirming the news, the NFC technology on Nokia's smartphones will enable easy display, delivery, and purchase of goods using a simple 'tap' action. With this, PayMate hopes to bring the NFC technology to the Indian market, full fledgedly.

The NFC technology essentially used the radio frequency identification technology, using which NFC-enabled devices can exchange information in real-time. Further, the announcement states that the NFC technology allows users to view Content and Services in a secure information using a tap function, wherein an NFC-enabled phone is tapped against an NFC touch point. PayMate further adds that with the NFC technology coming down to Nokia's smartphones for the Indian market, users will be able to share text, images, URLs, among other data by plainly holding up the smartphone to various smart tags. The official announcement further adds that the NFC technology has also made a headway into the payment category. Users can now, reportedly carry out their transactions i.e. purchasing an item by only tapping their NFC-enabled device on an NFC-enabled menu or the tag on an item they want to purchase.

Further, using RFID tags, all product information can be received on one's phone, helping them make the purchase decision accurately. The NFC technology-enabled Nokia smartphones can also receive advertising materials like coupons, promotions among others on their phone.
