Nintendo has finally fixed on a name for its next generation console that was till now known as the Revolution. The new name for the 'revolutionary' console is now officially Wii (pronounced - we).The guys at Nintendo decided to make this announcement before the much awaited E3 to avoid getting lost in all the noise that happens during the events there and have a brand recognition for the main show.“Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak,” the company said in its flash presentation of the name. “No confusion. No need to abbreviate.”"While the code-name "Revolution" expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else."The gaming community doesn't seem too happy with the 'unusual' name so far, but it will only be a matter of time before it sinks in.Check out the Wii introduction movie right here.nintendo_revolution_wii_t.jpg[/TAGS]
