Remember MySpace? The service that was once the Facebook of social networking has finally brought its relaunched website out of beta, saddled with new features and an iOS app.
Relaunched back in January for the public, MySpace unveiled its redesigned site to coincide with co-owner and singer Justin Timberlake’s new single called “Suit &Tie”. Oh, it has also tweaked its name – it's no longer MySpace but Myspace.

A new iOS app has been launched too
The streaming radio station will give you access to about 53 million tracks that you can choose to listen to from anywhere within the application. You only need to swipe upwards to check the music menu. The best part is that like the website, these stations will be free to tune-in to at any point of time. The GIF creator, which could fast turn into Myspace’s USP, will grant you the ability to stitch together frames from stills and videos and create loopy animations.
The website itself has now become more user-friendly after developers have taken into account user feedback. There are cards that will pop-up for first time users to take them through the revamped Myspace design. Artistes will have the facility to check out Insights, an analytics tool to check out details about their fan-base. You will also be able to look for and connect with users who have a similar taste as yours in music by using the People Browse tool.
Myspace’s redesign has been created keeping in mind the fact that the service wants to carve a niche for itself in the world of social media, yet again. In an interview with CNET back in October last year, Myscpace’s COO Chreis Vanderhook had mentioned that the site had given up on competing with social networking giant Facebook, the “uber social network”. Instead, he said, Myscpace wanted to try and fill the void left behind by competing services like Spotify and Pandora.

Intrigued by all things social, Nishtha will invariably tweet about you. When not tweeting or writing about the next viral video, you will hear her proclaiming her love to Metallica, James Hetfield, Opeth, Akerfeldt and all bands that go 'growl'. She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs.
