New LG Optimus G2 leaked images show possibility of on-screen buttons

A couple of more images of the rumoured LG Optimus G2 hav been leaked that give us a better look at the device, courtesy of serial leaker EVLeaks. These new images show that the handset will be using on-screen buttons instead of LG’s Samsung-like tendency to use the three-button layout below the screen with the Home, Menu and Back buttons. One of the images also shows the same + and – button below the camera that we saw in an earlier leak. The purpose of these buttons is yet to be determined.

The front of the handset lacks physical and capacitive buttons

As announced earlier, the new smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with quad-core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The leaked images also suggest that the smartphone could come with a 5.5-inch screen having a 1080p display.

Just recently, LG launched the Optimus G Pro in India. The smartphone, expected to compete with the likes of Samsung Note 2, comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display having a pixel density of 401 ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC with 1.7Ghz quad-core CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. Running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the handset is backed by 2GB of RAM and is powered by a 3140 mAh battery.

The back has the curious + and - buttons

The G Pro comes with a rear camera of 13 megapixels, while the secondary camera is 2.1 megapixels. Additionally, the handset has features such as dual camera and dual recording, which would mean that one could record or click images simultaneously using both the cameras. The camera also comes with a VR Panorama feature, which lets you click a 360° complete view picture, vertically and horizontally.
