New LG G Flex leak comes with more photos, hands-on video

LG’s curved smartphone, the G Flex, is back in the news, this time with what could be a leaked hands-on video and some additional photographs. While we last saw the new device in leaked press renders, the actual handset itself has been missing from the scene till now. The alleged video, coming from Argentinian broadcaster Telefe, seems to be an in-studio hands-on, which you can see here, while a journalist from the broadcaster, Federico Ini came up with more photos for the same, which was seen via the Verge.

According to an unconfirmed translation by the source, the device’s curved screen is 6-inches, corroborating what we have heard before. The device also may come with rear-mounted buttons, similar to what we have seen in the LG G2. The camera on the new handset might come with a 13-megapixel sensor, matching the optics seen on both the G2 and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Round. The latter, from what we know so far, has an OLED screen that is curved on a different axis.

From the new images, it looks like the G Flex looks a little bit like the curved OLED TVs that both LG and Samsung have in the market, where the screen’s edges are slightly turned inwards when seen in landscape orientation. While the company has yet to officially unveil the G Flex, the leaked videos and photos help to paint a pretty clear picture of what can be expected.

Ini, apart from the leaked photos, has also said that the G Flex will be launching in South Korea next month. There is no mention, however, of a release being planned yet for the US, Europe or Latin America. A representative from the company, according to the source, said that he was unsure of the validity of the device in the hands-on video and would have to validate the same before commenting. However, the leaked video suggests that it may not be long before we see the LG's first curved smartphone.
