New Gmail Add-ons let you get more done without leaving the app

The add-ons provide many features and some of the actions can be completed even without leaving the Gmail app. These would include messaging, calling, signing a contract and preparing invoices as well.

Google has launched nearly ten Gmail add-ons (few are yet to come) for its Gmail apps (web and mobile) that is a part of its G Suite. The add-ons will provide additional features and basically work like extensions. According to Google the add-ons will help users in doing various tasks without breaking their workflow. The Gmail app[/caption]The add-ons were previously available in the developer preview section, for testing earlier this year.The first add-on is Asana. This Gmail add-on allows users to turn an email conversation into a task. The task can be tracked by all the team members, while conversing in through the mail. Asana also allows to schedule a task and users can follow the progress through emails.The second add-on is yet to be released. It's called DocuSign and it allows users to sign and execute contracts, agreements and other online documents on the Gmail.Another add-on called Hire allows users to add and manage information of the candidates applying for a job. It also allows them to upload a resume without leaving Gmail.Intuit's QuickBooks Invoicing add-on allows for the creation of professional invoices right from the Gmail app. It also helps in tracking the payment status of the invoice without leaving the Gmail app.The ProsperWorks Gmail Add-on gives easy access to prospect and customer data. It allows for the creation of new activities, including calling, taking notes and meetings in Gmail.RingCentral shows the online and offline status of the contacts saved in the add-on. One can review recent call history, make calls, view and send messages through RingCentral. The Add-on needs to be installed on a mobile phone in order to place calls.Smartsheet allows the Gmail users to add email content and attachment directly to the mail without leaving the app.Streak allows a users to view contacts info and respond them with snippets. Streak also allows to add threads of mail to deals.Trello works similar to Asana, allowing users to turn an email into actionable task and share it with teammates.The same goes for Wrike but it also allows to view and update task details. Teammates can send and receive Wrike comments with the help of the Add-on.Apart from all these new add-ons Google also allows you to create add-on from the Gmail app for your organisation. According to a blog post by G Suite, a user can write code for an add-on and use their own add-on, specially made for their organisation. The Gmail Add-on code will run right away on Gmail web and Android systems.The above mentioned add-ons can be found on the G Suite Marketplace.
