MTNL Rolls Out Mobile Pay Phones in Delhi
MTNL (Delhi) rolls out mobile pay phones on tricycles, operable by physically challenged persons.
State run telecom operator, MTNL has rolled out 25 mobile pay phones in the Indian capital, in collaboration with the Delhi government. These mobile pay phones will be mounted on tricycles, and will be operated by physically challenged persons.
MTNL Chairman and Managing Director R.S.P. Sinha announced that this scheme will provide all eligible applicants PCO connections fully equipped with all necessary equipments without any charges and will offer attractive commission to the PCO operators ranging from 33 percent to 67 percent. The Delhi government will provide the tricycles to PCO operators on a finance basis. Also, there are provisions of extra PCOs on request (up to five lines) on the same tri-cycle, depending upon business necessities.
MTNL plans to roll out similar tricycles in the Mumbai circle as well.
