Moto G5 Plus will be available in India on Flipkart on 15 March; price unknown
Motorola and Flipkart have officially revealed that the Moto G5 Plus will come to India on 15 March as a Flipkart exclusive.
Mobile World Congress 2017 has come and gone and left us lusting after some of the more promising devices announced at the show. Lenovo’s Moto G5 and G5 Plus was among those devices and the good news is that they’re coming to India soon. Very soon.Motorola and Flipkart have officially revealed that the Moto G5 Plus will come to India on 15 March as a Flipkart exclusive. The launch date itself isn't a surprise, Lenovo released that information weeks ago, but at least we now know where to buy it from.The launch was preceded by a Flipkart social media campaign that asked people to “Ggggguess the secret of the ‘G’ takeover at Flipkart”. This was soon followed by a video from Flipkart and a tweet by Motorola that confirmed the launch date of the Moto G5 Plus.Now this is the larger, more powerful version of the G5 and features a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor. You also get a number of storage options with 2-4GB of RAM and 32-64GB of storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 256GB in size. The camera is a 12 MP f/1.7 unit with dual-LED and supports 4K recording. The front camera is a 5 MP f/2.2 unit.Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band support as well as Bluetooth 4.2 and microUSB v2.0. The battery is a 3,000 mAh unit.The phone’s smaller counterpart, the G5, offers a Snapdragon 430 powered device with a 5-inch Full HD display. You get a choice of either 2/3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage, which is also expandable by 256GB via a microSD card.The cameras on this device are a 13 MP f/2.0 for the rear and a 5 MP f/2.2 for the front. You get the same connectivity options and a slightly smaller 2,800 mAh Li-Ion battery.Neither Motorola nor Flipkart have revealed the price of the G5 Plus. They’ve also not mentioned if the G5 is coming to India.The previous generation Moto G4 Plus debuted in India at around Rs 15,000. The official EU price of the device is around Rs 14,000 for the base model.
