Most Wanted, Warfighter further delayed in India

Earlier this week, we had reported that release of the PlayStation 3 versions of Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Need for Speed: Most Wanted had been delayed in India. Now, according to MCV India, the release dates for the games have been further delayed. The distributor for the PlayStation 3 versions of the games in India – Milestone Interactive – has informed retailers that the games have been delayed.

The distributor has informed retailers that Medal of Honor: Warfighter is being delayed in India by five days. Instead of the original release date of the game, October 26, the game will instead be released on October 31. Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita is being delayed by three days, so instead of the original release date for the games on November 2, both versions of Most Wanted will instead be released on November 5. The PC version of Most Wanted has been delayed even further and will be released on November 9.

Warfighter's PS3 version is being delayed

EA had also recently released a trailer for Need for Speed: Most Wanted that explained the multiplayer of the game, including what game modes it’ll feature. To kick off multiplayer events, players have to drive to Race Lists strewn across the city that have a variety of different game modes, from simple races to all out takedown battles to jumping competitions. The game also features a progression system where you can level up to unlock mods for your car, as well as complete challenges such as finishing a race with no tyres to unlock License Plates that will display when you take down an opponent.

The PS3 and PC versions of Most Wanted are being delayed

The Need for Speed series has been one of the most successful racing game series, besides being one of the most successful video game franchises. The games in the series have been published by Electronic Arts (EA) and developed by several studios including Canada-based company EA Black Box and Britain-based Criterion Games. NFS was originally developed by Canadian company Distinctive Software, which later became known as EA Canada. As of October 2009, the game series has sold over 100 million copies.

The series has always been known for its arcadey racing gameplay as opposed to the more realistic simulation games such as Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport. Since Black Box’s last Need for Speed - Undercover, EA has released three games in the series from different developers. While Slightly Mad steered the series into Simulation territory with the shift games, Criterion brought the series back to its roots with the reboot Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

The upcoming game in the Need for Speed franchise is Need for Speed: Most Wanted and is being developed by Criterion.
