Monster.com comes to the iPhone (finally!)

Monster.com (India) launched an Android application last August. BlackBerry got its Monster hit in February of this year. April saw Monster on the Windows Phone platform. One platform is noticeably missing in the list and sort of makes you wonder why it was saved for last. The app has finally come out for iPhones, iPod Touch and iPads allowing job seekers using these devices to (finally) be able to look for jobs on the go. Sanjay Modi, Managing Director, Monster.com (India/ Middle East/ South East Asia) said, "Owing to the pervasive nature of mobile, the Indian smartphone industry is witnessing high-intensity growth, and is expected to comprise 12%-14% of the mobile handset sales in 2012.[1] And given the growing popularity of iPhone and iPads amongst gadget-savvy youth, the Monster app will provide jobseekers with a dynamic, efficient and convenient option to keep a track of jobs at their convenience. Coupled with Monster’s inherent understanding of user’s requirements and innovation amidst of its initiatives, we aim to extensively tap latest technologies including mobile to better connect with users."

Monster India on iOS

Currently, the app provides job seekers with the benefit of logging into Monster.com or creating an account from their iOS devices and browsing through new jobs while on the move. Users can also search and apply to jobs while they're on the go. Users can furthermore manage their account and update their information, including viewing profile, viewing employer activity on user profile as well as forward resumes. Monster also offers career advice through the app like tips on writing resumes and doing well at job interviews. Finally, you have the option to change countries and therefore the Monster site that you would access by default. Monster is available for free from the iOS App Store and requires iOS 5 or later.

It's interesting that Monster came out for the Windows Phone platform before it did for iOS. When the app came out for Windows Phone, Vineet Durani, Director - Windows Phone Business Group, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. said, "The Windows Phone app universe is growing at an unprecedented pace, and we already have over 70,000 apps available through Marketplace. Developed on the unique Metro UI, these apps are tightly integrated into the Windows Phone thus making them smarter and more fun." iOS has a more populated App Store at the moment but could the sparkle wear off?
