Microsoft will not support older Windows versions on new processors

In an effort to push Windows 10, Microsoft will be ending support for older Windows versions on new processors. This implies that users will not be able to run Windows 8 or older versions as these new processors from AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm will require the latest version of Windows to get enterprise support.Microsoft also states that the Skylake devices on the supported list will also be supported with Windows 7 and 8.1. This program will last till until July 17, 2017. After this given date, corporate users will need to upgrade to Windows 10. A report by Engadget points out that this new policy will the company create a 'deep integration' between Windows 10 and the new hardware. In addition, this move will help the company tackle one of it's biggest problems which is, getting companies to update Windows.Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President at Windows and Devices Group said in a blogpost, We’re humbled by this early success and we’re grateful to our partners who are helping make it happen.
