Microsoft to ship more than 100 games for Xbox 360 over the next three years

If, with the imminent launch of the Xbox One, you have been scared of not having any more games for the Xbox 360, here's something that might put your worries to rest. Xbox's Yusuf Mehdi revealed at the Citi Global Technology Conference that the company still plans on releasing games for the console.

Not out of the game just yet!

"If you look at 360 that platform lasted for seven to eight years and it's going to go for another three years. It's incredibly profitable now in the tail.” He continues, "Some of these things take some time in the launch year in which you invest, and then they they play out over time."

Mehdi later went on to state that Microsoft will be releasing more than 100 new titles for the Xbox 360. "We're going to continue to invest in Xbox 360, and the two devices can work in concert. So it's not like the day we ship Xbox One your 360 won't work. We'll continue to support it."

Microsoft's plans to start phasing out the 360 are set to start in 2016, which would bring the console's total life cycle to an impressive 11 years.
