Microsoft releases first major update for Windows 10

In addition, Windows 10 will also be rolling out to Xbox One and select mobile phones soon.The post lists some of the improvements included in the latest update. These include:PerformanceAccording to Microsoft, the boot time in Windows 10 is 30 percent faster as compared to Windows 7 running on the same system.CortanaYour friendly Windows assistant now supports a stylus for handwriting input. Cortana will now let you scribble notes in the Cortana notebook. Moreover, it recognises phone numbers, email addresses, as well as physical addresses. Moreover, Cortana is now available in India!
Microsoft EdgeThe new browser available on Windows 10 now offers tab preview in addition to enhanced performance and security. You can now hover over your open tabs and have a preview of the content on that page. Microsoft Edge also syncs your Favourites and Reading lists across your laptop, PC, tablet and other devices running Windows 10.In line with the company motto, Microsoft will enable enterprises and companies to migrate to Windows 10 for a unified experience across mobile, tablet, PC and Cloud.Windows 10 now offers improved security with Credential Guard, which safeguards credentials within a hardware-based virtualised environment.Device Guard uses Trusted Boot to prevent intruders from installing malware, thereby securing devices.Windows Hello offers enterprise grade biometrics including fingerprint and facial recognition, while Windows Defender continues to offer a free anti-malware service.
