MediaTek to ramp up focus on VoLTE in India; also introduces Miravision for Helio chipsets

MediaTek, the fabless semiconductor design company, will be focussing on providing a robust and comprehensive LTE, VoLTE and VoWiFi suite to end consumers. In addition to concentrating on the Helio chipset shipments, the company also plans to bring its MiraVision technology to more chipsets.MediaTek has seen a growth in the LTE shipments last year. It is working with around 10 OEMs to have over 25 VoLTE enabled handsets in the market in the next quarter in India.Apart from smartphones, MediaTek is also investing in MiraVision, which aims to provide digital TV type multimedia features on smartphones. The technology will be backed by the Helio series of chipsets. Some of its key features include SmartScreen, Ultra Dimming and BluLight Defender.SmartScreen lets you optimise the display readability while being power efficient. Ultra Dimming provides an advanced pixel-based processing to provide a dimmer light emission. Finally BluLight Defender is designed to supress blue light energy and maintain good picture quality while being power efficient.
